Ketty Koraka
An Actress in Search of Antigone
Ketty Koraka (Καίτη Κόρακα) is an actress, writer, director and philanthropist who has run a preschool in Chania, Crete, for over 40 years. She founded the Girls of Old Town (Κορίτσια της Παλιάς Πόλης) theater troupe in order to exercise the talents of numerous young women ranging in age from 90 to 30. Their comic performances, similar to collections of vaudeville sketches, became a sensation in Chania, and the group has performed on triumphant tours to Heraklion on Crete, and the island of Santorini.
Marianna Dimitrakaki
The Matriarch
Marianna Dimitrakaki (Μαριάννα Δημητρακάκη) was born in Chania, Crete, and has lived there her entire life. the mother of two daughters, she is a longstanding member of Ketty Koraka's Girls of Old Town theater troupe. She is the mother of Eleni Dimitrakaki and the grandmother of Manousos Goniataki and Vasilis Dimitrakakis.

The Matriarch's Elder Daughter
Eleni (Ελένη Δημητρακάκη) lives in Chania, Crete. She is a member of Ketty Koraka's Girls of Old Town theater troupe, and is the mother of Manousos Goniataki and the aunt of Vasilis Dimitrakakis.
Evangelia Stefanidou
Widow with Two Sons
Evangelia Stefanidou (Ευαγγελία Στεφανίδου) has lived her entire life in Old Town Chania, where she is a longstanding member of Ketty Koraka's Girls of Old Town. She is the mother of two sons.
Maria Tavernari
"I'll be Antigone!"
Maria Tavernari (Μαρία Ταβερνάρη) is the ranking member of the entire Girls of Old Town troupe. She has a son and a daughter. Her straight-faced comic sketches tend to bring down the house. When in doubt, she loves to sing!
Chrysoula Filippaki
The War Child and Beauty Queen
Aside from four years sheltering in mountain caves during the German occupation of Crete (1941-1945) Chrysoula Filippaki (Χρυσουλα Φιλιππακη) has lived her entire life in Chania. She was a beauty queen in her teenage years, something that is still quite obvious today. Her son owns the famous To Stachi vegetarian restaurant in Chania. She is a longstanding member of Ketty Koraka's Girls of Old Town theater troupe.
Stella Bouraki
The Unsuspecting Bride
Stella Bouraki (Στέλλα Μπουρακι) was born and grew up in Agia Marina, a village just west of Chania. The mother of two sons, she is a longstanding member of Ketty Koraka's Girls of Old Town theater troupe.
Manousos Goniotakis
Brother Two: The Sun Catcher
Manousos (Μανουσοσ Γωνιωτακης) is the son of Eleni Dimitrakaki. He is studying the Pentozalis, the traditional Cretan dance, and the traditional Cretan lyra.
Vasilis Dimitrakakis
Brother One: Boy with a Ball
Vasilis Dimitrakakis (Βασιλης Δημητρακακης) is one of a pair of twins. He is a nephew of Eleni Dimitrakaki and a grandson of Marianna Dimitrakaki.
