OKSANA MYSINA INTERVIEW IN TEATRAL MAGAZINE
August 4, 2021
“...Lia [Akhedzhakova] and I performed together with Eldar Ryazanov, although, unfortunately, this scene was not included in that film. But we became very good friends. Her performance was brilliant. This scene from Andersen. Life without Love was recently rediscovered 'in the archives' and posted on social media.
Lia Medzhidova also performed in my film Insulted. Belarus(sia), made in support of Belarus. The film has already taken part in ten international festivals and received many prizes. Lia Medzhidovna gave a great performance in the film! It is an absolutely brilliant piece of acting, done in one day, more precisely, overnight. When we received [the text of] this play, we realized that we needed to show solidarity. Some actors managed to memorize the text, some literally acted their role online for the camera. We became even closer friends during this work. But the point here isn’t friendship, it is that I understand the responsibility each of us has before her. For she is a beacon! We all learn to act from her, we learn how to think from her, we see how she relates to the world, and it is simply impossible to remain indifferent in this situation...”
