"...An intelligent film."
Alexander Chugunov, playwright, Moscow
"The palette of colors is pleasing to the eye. The influence of the Impressionists is noticeable. Moreover, the maker [of the film] does not seek to impose, as often happens, her 'hard-won didactics.' It's good that after encountering the characters, one is left with the feeling of understatement. You have your own creative personality. Develop your style. This is the most worthy path for a creative person. An intelligent film."
"...Such love that even poppies break through stone."
RUZANNA MOVSESYAN, director, Moscow
"Like a watercolor, wonderful, and gentle! You feel sorry for all of them! I want to hug and caress everyone, including the sea and the air. I don’t understand at all how one makes a film. Congratulations! Keep it up! You are a giant! You take something and do with it what you want, however you want. And you do it with such love that even poppies break through stone. I admire your talent for life and love!"
"Let this crack you out of your COVID Loneliness!"
RACHEL VIGOUR, poet and painter, Charlottesville, VA
"Fantastic film, about half an hour. Watch it right now! We are so fortunate: Our filmmaker friends Oksana Mysina and John Freedman are brilliant! Gorgeous scenes in Greece. Let this story crack you out of your COVID Loneliness! What a beautiful place, story, music. LOVE it!"
"...Where love, romance and music are born!"
MARIA BUKNIS, Actor, Moscow
"An uncommonly beautiful, heartfelt film. Excellent camera work. And what marvelous nature. This is where love, romance and music are born!!!"
"...Reminds me of the best Dylan songs, with their ambiguities and allusions..."
CHRIS FLOYD, musician, songwriter, political analyst, Oxford, UK
"I watched Red, Blue and Asya yesterday and loved it! It reminded me of the possibilities I saw for film when I was first discovering the wider world of cinema in the 1970s (with old and new films), that dedication to a felt reality of life, to a genuine, heightened experiencing of being, beyond the contrivances of commerciality or neat, linear narrative. It brought back to me a way, a direction, that I thought art (and the world) would go. To see it still alive today is a very hopeful thing. I love the soundscape and music too! The song that begins, "If I only knew the source of tears," is extraordinarily effective at that moment in the film. The film reminded me of the best of Dylan's songs, with their ambiguities and allusions, where you're given space to dream alongside the artist and co-create your own vision. Such a heartening and vivifying work!"
"An extraordinary achievement..."
Kristin Corbet-milward, Actress, London
"What a beautiful film. And to think that you did it in five days! That's an extraordinary achievement. The way you kept changing the pace and rhythm was hypnotic..."
